Thank you so much for checking out this site! I have very high hopes for it, so I really hope you like it. I always thought what Dailykos and other sites like it needed was a social networking aspect. I waited a few years, figuring someone would get around to it. Apparently not, so here I am.

I encourage everyone to use the same user ID as on kos (or wherever you're from - the site isn't just for Kossacks), that way we can avoid a lot of confusion.

Here, you'll be able to have a friend's list, send people private messages, design a complete profile page, add pictures and video and music, even chat if you want. Most importantly though, you will be able to use this site to form groups, groups which can hopefully go on to do great things. Make groups based on key issues, your location (state, city, whatever) - you can even have a group dedicated to cute cat pictures or other non-political subjects that enhance community building.. And yes, I've added a groups just for meta. Just a gentle budge for you to have those flame wars here, rather than on dailykos or wherever, where it might get you banned and also be distracting. I will only ban you if you start outing people or taunting them with personal information, and if you're really sorry, I'll most likely forgive you. That's just how I am.

We do have a forum section, and each group has it's own separate forum section, but I didn't really make this site for posting diaries; that's what sites like Dailykos are for. Of course, if you want to post a diary here (either because you already wrote your one diary at kos and want to do another one; or maybe you posted on kos but your diary didn't get much attention; maybe there's a certain issue or action alert that needs extra attention; maybe because you're not from kos so you obviously haven't already posted your diary there!) you are more than welcome to. The Blog section of this site is more for personal diaries, and you can use them for that purpose or really for whatever you want. In general though, I hope this site can serve as a way for lefty bloggers to organize and get stuff done, whether that stuff involves a candidate, an issue, or just friendship and community.
